Title IX Provisions

Title IX provides that “no person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance,” with certain exceptions. Title IX is similar to Title IX of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 except that Title IX applies to discrimination based on sex, is limited to education programs and activities, and includes employment.

In accordance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Public Law 92-138. and amendments thereto in Public Law 93-563 and of the codes of Federal Regulations, Title 45, Part 86, which implements those laws, it is hereby declared formally that it is the policy of the Supervisory Union, and those of its employees, that there shall be no discrimination of any education program or activity in the Prospect Mountain School.

Inquiries, complaints, and other communications relative to this policy and to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and other public laws and federal regulations concerned with non-discrimination on the basis of sex, shall be addressed to the following person designated for this area:
