Prospect Mountain High School junior Wyatt Varney has organized an ice fishing tournament to be held Saturday, February 17 on Suncook Lake in Barnstead. The National Honor Society member has organized the event to benefit Veteran's Count. The cost is $15 per entry, and veterans fish for free. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, with all proceeds going to Veteran's Count and its programs to support service members in their civilian lives. Fishtails, Berry's Baits, and Pop's Clamshell have all donated prizes, with more rolling in daily. Tickets will be sold at the Narrows Road boat launch and at the public beach on Upper Suncook Lake from sunrise until 10:00 a.m. Fishing will continue until 3:30 p.m. Wyatt was recently interviewed on Good Morning NH on 107.7 "The Pulse" radio, with a podcast version of the interview posted on January 29.
