In June of 2024, PMHS was notified that one of our Sophomores, now a rising Junior, Keela Forsythe, that participated in the 2023 Scholastic art and Writing awards received national gold medal for a drawing that she had completed that year.

Why is this special? Because each state across the country takes submissions from every art teacher at every school for the Scholastic Arts competition each year. Only a fraction of those that are entered gain any recognition at the state level. Pieces receive either a Gold Key, a Silver Key, or an Honorable Mention. A majority of the pieces submitted do not win any awards at all. From all of the Gold Key awards in each state, there is a national contest where all of those winners are again judged against one another, and a fraction of those pieces ever gain any national recognition and that's what Keela won! Congratulations to her and her art teachers, Troy Corriveau and Jesse Robidas!
